Picking A Prom Dress That Won't Get You Kicked Out Of The Dance

It’s easy to get carried away with dress styles on prom and go for the high hems and daring cut outs but, if it’s at the expense of you getting kicked out of the dance, it’s not worth it.

Celebrities are partly to blame for this as every year, it just seems like the red carpet dresses are becoming more and more edgier; and when we say edgier, we mean more skin. Designers are getting creative in placing cut outs at the most unexpected places.

But prom isn’t Hollywood. And going to your prom in a dress that may be acceptable on the red carpet might not go well with your school’s superiors. You want to make sure that you not only look good for prom; you also want to wear something that abides with the school’s dress codes.

Must Try 2016 Prom Dress Trends!

Prom season is quickly approaching. In many areas, Prom season will be in two to three months, but have you selected your gown yet? While this year's choices include many trends from 2015, they've also evolved even further with choices both fashionable teens and conservative parents approve of.

Must Try 2016 Prom Dress Trends

This year's prom dress trends have combined the best of the previous years and added some fun twists to it. Last year, two-piece gowns with crop tops were all the rage. In 2016, designers made it even more sophisticated by adding sheer mesh so it's more of a mock two-piece gown. In addition, while spring usually brings soft pastel shades, girls are leaning towards darker metallic colors for their prom dresses 2016.

Scroll through AZAZIE's boutique of endless options, and you will see what I mean!

Impeccable attention to detail!
The saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression," came to my mind with I opened my package from AZAZIE! The first impression knocked my socks off! My dress arrived in a beautiful black & white garment bag, reminiscent of a Chanel box I have coveted in my closet for years. When I zipped open the bag, there was the dress with its gorgeous red color and impeccable attention to detail. It was then that I knew I had stumbled upon a one-of-a-kind (literally) posh bridal shop.

AZAZIE's Kathryn Dress in Burgundy

I chose AZAZIE's Kathryn dress in burgundy (a deep shade of red) for my review for a few reasons. I was attracted to its classic silhouette and light-flowing chiffon fabric. I've also found chiffon to be forgiving with most spots/stains when treated with a little cold water and blotting with a towel. This is important when you have a teenage daughter who wears the same size you do! {smile} I also thought it was the perfect color and style dress to wear to holiday parties.

The dress features a sweetheart neckline, zip-up back, and a cute hand-worked flower detail. I love how it fits my shape, hugging only figure-flattering areas of my body.
I love the handworked flower! It adds a sweet and feminine touch to the dress!

Couture At Your Door!

Disclosure: I received a dress from Lending Luxury for review purposes only.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Over the weekend, the Greater Cleveland YMCA celebrated their 160th anniversary with a gala at The Westin in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It was a wonderful evening thanks to the great group of people from Parker Hannifin, the outstanding entertainment by Band X, and my fabulous dress from Lending Luxury!

As the date of the gala was quickly approaching, I found myself running out of time to go shopping for a dress and, as luck would have it, Lending Luxury and I happened to cross paths. Lending Luxury is an online fashion store, with the most exquisite couture dresses available to rent. These are not your everyday dresses, however, they are the crème de la crème of dresses! You know, the designer labels that celebrities wear on the red carpet. Many of the dresses on Lending Luxury's site retail for well over $1,000!  And the best part is, it will cost you nowhere near that to rent one!

PromGirl Pumps Up The Glam at the HeartThrob Ball Event!

The stars were shining brightly Friday evening, May 4th, at Cleveland Public Hall, as event attendees came out for the HeartThrob Ball to support Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital. Everyone was a winner at the event, especially the children, as over $100,000 was raised to renovate existing space at the Center for Autism into a specially designed preschool room.
PromGirl.net provided an amazing embellished sequined dress for me to wear to this special charity event. The knee length Clarisse dress added elegance and glam while strutting down the red carpet. I polished off the formal look of the dress with gold shimmering platform peep toe pumps to sparkle from head to toe!

If you have a special event coming up, you will want to visit PromGirl.net to view an array of designer cocktail attire, party dresses, formal gowns, and premier evening wear. You are sure to find something that is absolutely YOU, absolutely amazing!

Scott Hamilton, Special Guest Speaker
One of the highlights of the evening was a surprise visit from American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist, Scott Hamilton. Scott was born in Ohio and has been a patient at the Cleveland Clinic. Scott founded the CARES Intitiative (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship), a thriving partnership with the Cleveland clinic Taussig Cancer Center. Scott CARES focuses on patient education, mentoring and fun raising research.
The well-deserved Courage Award recipients Jaime Bradford, Gabe Boylan, and Jose Dybzinski, were the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital honorees and the heroes of the event. Each of these children inspire us with their indomitable spirit, strength and fortitude. They face their overwhelming obstacles every day with courage and determination.
Two-time Grammy award winners, Kool & The Gang, entertained the crowd and didn't miss a beat. The group has taken a generation through four decades and are best known for their hit song "Celebrate Good Times, C'mon!," together with other songs such as "Jungle Boogie," "JoAnna," and "Cherish the Love."
I was a bit surprised at the "up close and personal" concert.
Yes. That's my hand one of the lead singers is holding! I'm still giggling like a teenager!
A good time was had by all.
