Go Red For Women Ladies Tea & Photo Shoot!
I'm so excited! The Go Red For Women American Heart Association Campaign is getting ready for its kick-off in February! It was a fun time last week when all of the Go Red Women (including me - yay!) had a photo shoot for the Go Red spread that will appear in the February issue of Cleveland Magazine! Clinique and Lancome were kind enough to offer complimentary makeup applications for all of the Go Red ladies. My sister, who is also Co-Chair of the Open Your Heart Committee for the Go Red Campaign, had her make-up done by Clinique, and I had my make-up done by Lancome. A special thanks to Matthew at Lancome for applying my makeup (photo below). I don't normally wear darker lipstick shades, but Matthew applied Lancome's Red Haute Lipstick, and it's the perfect shade of red! I guess that's why he's the expert!

Style, Decor & More is Going Red!
Style, Decor & More is proud to announce that it will be joining the Go Red For Women movement. Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's national cause campaign to increase awareness of heart disease - the leading cause of death for women.
This morning I attended a Go Red For Women breakfast to find out how Style, Decor & More can contribute to raise awareness of this important cause. It was wonderful meeting so many powerful women from the Greater Cleveland area who are helping to make a difference.

Each of the ladies in attendance received a goodie bag! Love the "Go Red" wine charms!
I won the raffle prize filled with lots of goodies! Woohoo!
I'm still brainstorming on ways Style, Decor can help raise awareness and contribute to Go Red. Maybe a fashion show, wine tasting or tea? I'll keep you posted!
The most important thing I learned today is that you are never too young to have heart disease.
Pay attention to your body!! If you are taking medication for anxiety and not responding, maybe it is not anxiety. Always short of breath? Maybe you are not simply out of shape. Don't ignore symptoms such as chest discomfort, cold sweat, nausea,or lightheadedness.
Did you know that Heart Disease kills more women than all cancers combined?!
Let's be healthy role models for our children and family members. Eat fruits and vegetables and exercise. If you don't like to exercise, walk for 30 minutes per day! Let's fight this silent killer!

GO RED FOR WOMEN!
Remember to support the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red today! Going Red is easy, fun, and helps save women's lives by raising awareness! Together, we can make a difference.

FREE "GO RED" Dress Pin & Shout Out!
GO RED is February 1st and the American Heart Association asks women across the United States to wear red to help raise awareness of heart disease. This treatable disease is the leading cause of death of women in the U.S. GO RED's campaign is the first step in raising awareness.
The strength of mothers, sisters, daughters and friends, fighting side by side is more powerful than any killer. So, what do you say? Are you ready to jump in and join the fight? I hope so. Because together, we can put an end to heart disease.
I would like to give a shout out to my sister, Marien, who recently appeared in Cleveland Magazine's "Go Red" feature. Her tireless efforts to raise awareness have only begun as she has taken on her important leadership role!

Congrats, Marien! I used an arrow to identify Marien, because nobody would ever guess we're sisters. I'm definitely the recessive gene in the family!
